Misrata | October 4, 2026 - Misrata University today welcomed His Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of India to Libya and his accompanying delegation on an official visit aimed at exploring prospects for academic and scientific cooperation and strengthening future partnership opportunities between the university and Indian higher education institutions. The delegation was received by the President of Misrata University, in the presence of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Secretary General, and the Director of the International Cooperation Office. During the meeting, the depth of bilateral relations and the importance of consolidating shared visions in the educational and research fields were emphasized.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed several vital areas, including enhancing student and academic exchange, developing joint educational programs and research projects, and supporting training efforts and the exchange of expertise and knowledge. Discussions also focused on expanding partnerships in the fields of technology, engineering, modern sciences, and innovation, as well as the possibility of building a network of understandings and institutional partnerships with a number of prestigious Indian universities.
At the conclusion of the visit, both parties emphasized the importance of translating these understandings and areas of shared interest into concrete and sustainable action plans and cooperation agreements in the coming phase. This will contribute to leveraging advanced academic expertise, supporting the quality of education and scientific research at the university, and strengthening its international presence and network of relationships across various higher education institutions worldwide.
