
On Monday, December 8, 2025, Misrata University held its regular University Council meeting, chaired by the University President, Professor Dr. Bashir Abubakr Al-Qunaidi, and attended by the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Secretary General, the Registrar, the Deans of the Faculties, and the Director of the University Council Affairs Office. The meeting addressed several items related to the educational process and academic development plans for the 2025-2026 academic year.
At the beginning of the session, the council reviewed the minutes of the previous meeting and the implementation of its recommendations. It then discussed recent developments within the colleges and proposals for improving the educational infrastructure and classrooms to meet academic needs. The council also discussed the adoption of the internal regulations for postgraduate studies at the College of Languages and Translation, in addition to reviewing proposals for the accreditation of new postgraduate programs, including a Master`s program in Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the College of Pharmacy and a Master`s program in Islamic Theology at the College of Islamic Studies.
In the area of quality, the Director of the University`s Quality and Performance Evaluation Office presented a proposed crisis and risk management plan, in addition to outlining development strategies aimed at enhancing the quality of educational, research, and training services, and strengthening the academic work environment in line with institutional and program accreditation standards.
The council concluded its proceedings by reviewing several files and correspondences that will be further discussed in upcoming sessions, in support of the ongoing development and improvement of the educational and research system and the enhancement of quality within the university.
