Misrata | Saturday, September 5, 2026 – Misrata University held a ceremony today to inaugurate several new lecture halls and to honor the second graduating class of PhD students. The ceremony took place at the university`s Faculty of Medicine.
The event was attended by His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Government of National Unity, Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Al-Dabib, along with several directors of departments and offices within the ministry, a member of the Misrata Municipal Council, the President of Misrata University, Professor Dr. Bashir Abubakr Al-Qunaidi, the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Secretary General, the Registrar, several deans of faculties, directors of centers, departments, and offices at the university, as well as a number of officials and academics.
The ceremony included the inauguration of new lecture halls, supporting the educational infrastructure and providing a suitable academic environment for students and faculty members. The second cohort of PhD graduates was also honored in recognition of their scientific and research efforts and academic achievements.

During the ceremony, His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Al-Dabib, was also honored for his efforts and support of higher education and scientific research.

This occasion underscores Misrata University`s commitment to developing its educational facilities, supporting scientific talent, and advancing its academic and research mission.
