Misrata | On Wednesday, April 15, 2026, the first meeting of the Scientific Journals Follow-up Committee at Misrata University was held, with the participation of the editors-in-chief of the scientific journals issued by the university, as part of its efforts to develop and improve the scientific publishing system in accordance with international standards.
The meeting addressed a number of topics related to internationally adopted scientific publishing policies and standards. The requirements for indexing journals in international databases and electronic platforms were reviewed, along with a discussion of mechanisms for activating the Digital Identifier (DOI) system, and an emphasis on the importance of adhering to these standards in order to enhance the quality of scientific production and raise its level of dissemination and impact.
The attendees also agreed to initiate a comprehensive evaluation of the university`s scientific journals, studying each journal independently according to international standards, with the aim of improving their performance and meeting the requirements for ranking and indexing in global databases.

This meeting is part of Misrata University`s commitment to supporting scientific research, enhancing the quality of its outputs, and strengthening its academic presence in regional and international scientific circles.
