
Misrata | Sunday, April 19, 2026 - The Misrata University Council held its third regular meeting for the year 2026 this Sunday afternoon at the Faculty of Engineering, chaired by the University President, Professor Dr. Bashir Abubakr Al-Qunaidi, and attended by the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Secretary General, the Registrar General, the Deans of the Faculties, and the Director of the University Council Affairs Office.
The meeting began with a review of the minutes of the previous regular meeting of the University Council, a follow-up on the implementation of decisions made in previous council meetings, and a discussion of the items and recommendations from the previous meeting, with appropriate action taken.
The meeting then addressed the progress of the educational process across the university`s various colleges for the 2025-2026 academic year, assessing academic performance levels and discussing the faculty needs of academic departments to support the educational process.
The council also discussed several administrative and organizational correspondences and procedures, in addition to considering proposals related to a number of courses and academic assignments, with the aim of enhancing performance efficiency across the university`s colleges.
As part of its efforts to develop institutional performance, the council reviewed several reports and proposals related to quality and organizational structure, in line with academic accreditation requirements and to improve the outcomes of the educational process.
The meeting also addressed supporting scientific research, through discussing the reports of the specialized committees, proposals for developing scientific publishing, in addition to hosting scientific conferences, including conferences that will be held by a number of the university’s colleges in the near future in the colleges: (College of Arts and Media, College of Environmental Sciences and Natural Resources, and College of Information Technology) with a number of supervising and sponsoring bodies; in a way that contributes to enhancing the university’s scientific standing.
The meeting concluded with a discussion of several topics related to quality assurance, including the presentation and approval of the strategic plan for the Faculty of Information Technology, in addition to any other business.
