The Misrata University Council holds its second regular meeting for the year 2026.

Misrata | February 15, 2026 – The University Council of Misrata University held its second regular meeting for the year 2026 on Sunday at the Faculty of Medicine headquarters, chaired by the University President and attended by the esteemed Council members. The meeting addressed several agenda items related to academic, administrative, and quality assurance matters.

The session commenced with a speech delivered on behalf of the University Council in tribute to the late Professor Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Al-Ashhab, former President of Misrata University. The Council expressed its heartfelt condolences, recalling his distinguished career and his significant scientific, educational, and academic contributions that served the university and enhanced its performance. They prayed for Almighty God to grant him vast mercy and to bestow patience and comfort upon his family and loved ones.

The Council then reviewed the minutes of the first regular meeting of 2026, held on January 18, 2026, discussed the recommendations issued therein, and followed up on the actions taken accordingly.

Under the second agenda item, the Council discussed preparations for the Spring Semester 2025–2026, in addition to monitoring the progress of the educational process in faculties operating under the annual system, ensuring the regularity of studies and the achievement of planned academic objectives.

Within the framework of internal procedures, the Council examined several correspondences and matters related to academic, educational, training, and administrative programs.

Regarding quality assurance, the Council reviewed a letter from the Director of the Office of Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation concerning the readiness of the institutional accreditation documents for the Faculty of Humanities and Applied Sciences, in preparation for their submission to the National Center for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Educational and Training Institutions to complete the relevant procedures.

The meeting concluded with a review of new business and the adoption of a number of decisions and recommendations aimed at supporting academic and administrative performance and strengthening the university’s quality pathway.
