Opening of the 10th International Scientific Conference on Sports Sciences - Misurata University

The 10th International Scientific Conference on Sports Sciences kicked off this morning in the hall of the Faculty of Arts at Misrata University. The conference is organized by the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences and the Misrata Sports Office, in cooperation with the Arab Scientific Academy for Sports Sciences. The conference is themed "Arab Sports and the Making of the Olympic Champion – Challenges and Opportunities."
The opening ceremony was attended by the Acting President of Misurata University, the Vice-Presidents for Academic Affairs, the University`s Secretary-General, the Director of the Misurata Sports Office, a number of members of the Arab Academy for Sports Sciences, members of the Misurata Municipal Council, and a select group of academics, guests, and sports enthusiasts.
This conference comes within the framework of supporting scientific research and enhancing cooperation and exchange of expertise between researchers and professionals in the fields of physical education and sports science. It serves as a scientific platform for discussing the challenges and opportunities related to developing Arab sports and achieving Olympic podiums.
The conference, which runs for two days, is being attended by 44 researchers from various Libyan universities, along with scientific contributions from several Arab countries. The conference`s scientific sessions will address a variety of topics related to the development of Olympic champions, sports planning, sports medicine, sports institution management, and talent discovery and nurturing.
The events also include research papers and discussion panels that highlight developments in sports training, sports management, and physical education curricula, with the goal of producing applicable scientific recommendations that support the advancement of sports in the Arab world.
