The second edition of the Information Technology Horizons Conference opens at Misrata University

Misrata | Saturday, June 6, 2026 - The second edition of the Information Technology Horizons 2026 Conference, organized by the Faculty of Information Technology at Misrata University, kicked off this morning with an opening ceremony held in the main hall of the Faculty of Engineering, under the generous patronage of the Misrata Free Zone, and in the presence of the President of Misrata University, the Minister of Digital Economy and Artificial Intelligence, the Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology, the Chairman of the General Authority for Communications and Informatics, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Holding Company for Communications, and a member of the Misrata Municipal Council, in addition to a number of deans of faculties and members of the university’s teaching staff, directors of departments and offices, and a select group of officials, academics, researchers and those interested in the fields of information technology, artificial intelligence and digital transformation.
The opening ceremony featured speeches that collectively emphasized the importance of keeping pace with the rapid advancements in information technology and artificial intelligence, and the role of scientific research in supporting digital transformation and sustainable development. This, in turn, enhances service development and fosters a knowledge-based economy built on innovation and cutting-edge technologies.

The conference aims to provide a scientific platform that brings together researchers, experts, and specialists to exchange experiences and knowledge, and to showcase the latest research and applications in information technology. This will contribute to supporting innovation and developing technological solutions that keep pace with the rapid developments in this field.
Following the opening ceremony, the conference`s scientific sessions commenced at the Faculty of Information Technology. A series of research papers and presentations were delivered, addressing contemporary issues in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data analytics, and digital transformation. Researchers and academics from various academic and research institutions participated.

The conference continues for two consecutive days, featuring scientific sessions and specialized workshops discussing the latest trends in information technology. The event will conclude with the announcement of final recommendations aimed at strengthening scientific research, supporting innovation, and advancing digital transformation.
