Misrata | The Community Service and Continuing Education Office at the Faculty of Law, Misrata University, in cooperation with the Faculty of Law and the Quality and Performance Evaluation Department at the Faculty of Environment and Natural Resources, organized a dialogue session on Monday, June 8, 2026, entitled: “Environmental Challenges and the Role of Law in Confronting Them – A Scientific and Legal Reading of Contemporary Environmental Issues,” on the occasion of World Environment Day.
The session addressed several topics related to the role of legislation in environmental protection, the most prominent contemporary environmental challenges and their impacts, and reviewed practical efforts and applications that contribute to environmental conservation.

Participants emphasized the importance of raising environmental awareness, activating relevant legislation, and expanding cooperation between academic institutions, relevant authorities, and civil society to address environmental challenges and achieve sustainable development.
The session concluded by emphasizing the importance of continuing scientific and dialogue-based events that contribute to spreading environmental and legal awareness and strengthening the university`s role in serving the community.
