"With hearts faithful to God`s decree and destiny, and with profound sadness and sorrow, Misurata University mourns the passing of Professor Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Al-Ashhab, the former President of the University—may God have mercy on him.

He was a distinguished educator, expert, and a prominent national and academic figure who dedicated a career full of giving to the service of both higher and general education. He held various academic and administrative positions that left a lasting impact, in addition to his diverse social and national contributions.

Misurata University extends its deepest condolences and sincere sympathy to his sons, brothers, and all members of his honorable family, as well as to his colleagues, students, and loved ones. We pray to Almighty God to bestow His vast mercy upon the deceased, to grant him a place in His spacious gardens, and to reward him with the best for what he offered to his country, his city, and the educational institutions in Libya.

Surely to Allah we belong, and to Him we shall return."
