
Misrata | April 11, 2026 - Misrata University received the Minister of State for Digital Economy and Artificial Intelligence on Saturday, in support of the state’s directions towards digital transformation and building a knowledge-based economy, and to learn about the academic and scientific capabilities of the university.
The visit began with a tour inside the College of Engineering, which included presentations introducing the scientific departments of the College of Engineering and the College of Information Technology. His Excellency was briefed on the Department of Artificial Intelligence Engineering, as well as the Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. He also listened to detailed explanations about the educational curricula and a number of research projects carried out by students and faculty members in the field of digital technologies.
During the visit, His Excellency the Minister affirmed the Ministry’s commitment to supporting national initiatives in the fields of digital economy and artificial intelligence, and to working to enable them by providing the necessary support, in order to transform research outputs and innovative ideas into applied projects that contribute to achieving sustainable development goals and enhancing the competitiveness of the national economy.
He also stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation and partnership between academic institutions and government agencies, in order to ensure that educational outputs are aligned with the needs of the labor market, and to contribute to preparing qualified national cadres capable of keeping pace with the rapid developments in the fields of modern technology.
This visit comes as part of the university`s efforts to foster an environment of innovation and encourage applied scientific research, thereby strengthening its role as a leading academic institution serving the community and supporting development initiatives.
