Tripoli | April 5, 2026 - Today, Sunday, a ceremony was held to renew the partnership agreement between the British Council and Misrata University, at the Council`s headquarters in Tripoli, as part of strengthening academic cooperation and developing English language assessment services.
This renewal comes in support of the continued establishment and operation of the IELTS testing center at the Faculty of Arts at Misrata University, which contributes to providing an accredited and distinguished testing environment for applicants, in accordance with approved international standards.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the university by the President of Misrata University, Professor Dr. Bashir Abubakr Al-Qunaidi, while on behalf of the British side it was signed by the Cultural Attaché and Director of the British Council in Libya, in the presence of the Director General of the Languages ​​and Translation Center at the university, Dr. Mustafa Fawzi Al-Shawish, along with the Assistant Director of the British Council, Professor Faisal Al-Najih.
The attendees emphasized the importance of this partnership in supporting the educational process and enhancing opportunities for students and researchers to obtain internationally accredited certificates, thus contributing to improved language skills and opening broader academic and professional horizons.

This step reflects the commitment of both parties to strengthening their collaborative ties, serving the development of higher education and raising the level of language proficiency in Libya.
