Misurata | December 31, 2025 – The Faculty of Education at Misurata University hosted the opening of the scientific and artistic exhibition held alongside the First International Conference: "700 Years.. Ibn Battuta’s Journey: A Cultural and Civilizational Legacy." The event was attended by the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Bashir Abu Bakr Al-Qunaidi, and the Dean of the Faculty, with broad participation from representatives of international organizations—including ICESCO and the Union of Arab Historians—alongside a distinguished group of Arab academics and researchers.
The exhibition pavilions featured active participation from the faculty’s academic departments, showcasing scholarly work related to the conference themes. The displays included fine art paintings and architectural models depicting the geographical routes of Ibn Battuta’s travels, highlighting the cultural and civilizational diversity of the countries he visited and emphasizing Libya’s historical role as a vital link in this shared human heritage.
This exhibition serves as a significant value-add, aiming to build bridges between academic research and artistic expression. By presenting history in a visual format that strengthens cultural identity, it aligns with Misurata University’s vision to enrich the cultural landscape and transition toward a comprehensive educational environment that integrates scientific authenticity with creative innovation.
