The Radiology Department at Misrata University is organizing the second scientific event on medical imaging for tuberculosis.

The Radiology Department at the Faculty of Human Medicine, University of Misurata, organized today the department’s Second Scientific Event, attended by the University’s Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Dean of the Faculty of Human Medicine, a member of the Health Committee of the Misurata Municipal Council, the Head of the Misurata Medical Syndicate, and the Director of the Health Services Administration, in addition to a number of faculty members and a large gathering of physicians, specialists, and those interested in health affairs.

The event was held under the theme:
“Imaging Tuberculosis: The Radiologist’s Eye on a Rising Threat”
(التصوير الطبي لمرض الدرن: عين اختصاصي الأشعة على تهديدٍ متصاعد)

This comes within the framework of strengthening the scientific and research role of the Radiology Department and highlighting the importance of medical imaging in the diagnosis of tuberculosis and monitoring its progression, as one of the growing health challenges at both the local and global levels.

The event opened with speeches by the preparatory and scientific committees, welcoming participants and outlining the objectives and academic significance of the event. This was followed by a speech by the Head of the Radiology Department, who addressed the department’s research role in developing physicians’ capabilities and improving the efficiency of medical services; a speech by the Dean of the Faculty of Human Medicine, who emphasized the importance of cooperation among academic departments and various health bodies to enhance education and training; and a speech by the University’s Vice President for Academic Affairs, who affirmed the university’s support for scientific and research activities and the enhancement of academic outcomes. In addition, speeches by representatives of the Municipal Council and the Medical Syndicate stressed the importance of integration between the health and academic sectors in serving the community.

Following the opening remarks, the scientific sessions commenced, witnessing wide participation from radiology specialists and other related medical specialties involved in the diagnosis and management of tuberculosis. The sessions addressed the latest developments and diagnostic technologies, methods of clinical follow-up, and discussed local and international challenges associated with the disease. The scientific day concluded with a set of recommendations presented by the guest speakers, focusing on improving diagnostic mechanisms, raising professional competency levels, and strengthening cooperation between academic departments and health institutions to enhance the quality of services provided to patients.
