Misrata | December 23, 2025 - The fourth scientific conference on agricultural sciences, organized by the Faculty of Agriculture at Misrata University in cooperation with the Agricultural Research Center, kicked off this morning, Tuesday, in the halls of the Faculty of Agriculture at Misrata University, under the slogan: “Food security is our responsibility.. and sustainable agriculture is our path.”
The opening session was attended by the Vice President for Academic Affairs at Misrata University, the Director of the Planning Department at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the Director of the Guidance Department.
The Ministry`s Student Guidance Department, a representative from the Misrata Municipal Council, the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture (who is also the conference chair), the Director of the Agricultural Research Center, the Head of the Conference`s Scientific Committee, several deans of faculties and directors of departments and offices at the university, as well as a select group of participating academics and researchers from various scientific institutions.
The opening ceremony included several speeches that emphasized the importance of scientific research in supporting the agricultural sector and addressing food security challenges, promoting sustainable agriculture concepts, and linking the outputs of scientific research to development issues and community service. Following the speeches, the scientific sessions for the participants began.
The conference program included an international scientific lecture via Zoom, presented by Professor Amjad Al-Hajj Tayeb from Algeria, which addressed the use of modern technology and data analysis in supporting smart agricultural decision-making, in addition to discussing a number of research papers and scientific lectures that covered the fields of plant and animal production.
Soil science and agricultural economics will be the focus of the conference, which will conclude with a set of scientific recommendations aimed at supporting the agricultural sector and strengthening food security.
