The Faculty of Arts at the University of Misrata hosted, on Sunday morning, the ceremony announcing the results of the classification of Libyan scientific journals for the year 2025, within the Libyan Online Journals Directory (DOLJ). The event was attended by the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Bashir Abu Bakr Al-Qanidi, and the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Imran Mohammed Al-Qeeb.
The ceremony was also attended by the Director of the Minister’s Office of Higher Education and Scientific Research, members of the National Program Team for the Development of Peer-Reviewed Libyan Journals, the University’s Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Secretary-General, a number of deans, directors of departments and offices, as well as a distinguished group of faculty members and those interested in academic and research affairs. The event further witnessed the presence of editors-in-chief of scientific journals and representatives of universities and academic institutions.
The program included a presentation of the classification results and the criteria adopted in evaluating scientific journals, emphasizing the importance of adhering to the standards and ethics of scientific publishing, and highlighting the role of peer-reviewed journals in supporting scientific research and serving the academic community.
This event comes within the framework of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s efforts to enhance the quality of scientific publishing, strengthen academic peer-review standards, and support national scientific journals, contributing to improving their ranking and strengthening their presence locally and internationally.
