The Misrata University Council held its ninth regular meeting for the year 2025 and discussed a number of academic and organizational matters.

Misrata | Saturday, November 1, 2025 - The Misrata University Council held its ninth regular meeting for the year 2025 this morning, chaired by Professor Dr. Bashir Abu Bakr Al-Qunaidi, President of the University, and in the presence of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Secretary General, the Registrar General, the Deans of the Faculties, the Director of the University Council Affairs Office, and a number of directors of centers and offices at the University.
The meeting began with a review of the minutes of the previous University Council meeting, a follow-up on the implementation procedures for what was agreed upon in the previous University Council meeting, and a follow-up on the progress of the educational process for the academic year 2025/2026, in addition to discussing a number of items received from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, including the exemption of the College of Environmental Sciences and Natural Resources from the preliminary registration stage.
The agenda also included a discussion of a range of internal correspondence and procedures, including the Faculty of Economics and Political Science’s readiness to organize the second edition of the Consumer Protection Scientific Conference scheduled to be held in May 2026.
The council discussed the adoption of the internal regulations for postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Health Sciences, and reviewed the proposal of the Languages ​​and Translation Center regarding the affiliation of language assessment programs to the center, in addition to the report on Misrata University’s ranking in the QS international ranking.
In the area of ​​quality, the council discussed the reports of the Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Office on the Crisis and Risk Management Plan, and the review of some courses in order to enhance academic accreditation standards and the quality of educational outcomes.
The meeting concluded by emphasizing the importance of continuing efforts to develop academic and administrative performance and enhance the university`s local and international standing through adherence to quality standards and continuous improvement.
