In cooperation with the department of Information Systems – Faculty of Information Technology, Geographic Information System Unit – Information and Documentation Center, organized a workshop that is part of a series of lectures entitled: (Basics of Learning Geographic Information Systems), following the clear and distinct vision of Misurata university in coping with geographic information systems and remote sensing, as well as linking them to all the faculties and departments concerned, in order to contribute to training highly competent scientific cadres that are capable of working with digitalization programs, and contributing to the promotion of the level of Misurata University in that area to achieve leadership in it, with a view to playing a role to the development of the input produced by scientific departments in the area of geographic data and digitalization, as well as contributing to the process of development and local spatial development projects.
The workshop entitled: “The Power of Location” was held on Sunday June 27, 2021 at the hall called martyrs hall in the faculty of Information Technology. Through the workshop, the lecturer, Dr. Abdulatheem Maeetieg, director of Geographic Information Unit at the university highlighted the significance of geospatial data management in geospatial development studies, and administration of cities and communities. Additionally, Dr. Abdulatheem presented the tools and applications of geographic information systems and remote sensing that are key to studies and research related to Geographic information systems.
