About Us

Originally, the faculty started as a department in the faculty of Medicine that was opened in the academic year 2006/2007 in order to help promote the level of dental services in Libya and cover the need of the community for dentists. Later on, the department has been converted to a separate faculty belonging to Misurata University called the faculty of Dentistry - Misurata University in the academic year 2010.
The faculty of Dentistry is located in Misurata, behind the faculty of Engineering and next to the faculty of Information Technology (IT).


Vision

Contributing to training and professional development of medical Personnel who are capable of providing adequate preventive and curative services to the community in the field of dentistry, aiming at playing a role in community promotion and covering health-care needs and requirements regarding dental and oral health, as well as enhancing public health standards in society.


Mission

Goals

1. Training and education of highly qualified medical personnel with advanced levels of expertise and high qualification standards in the field of dentistry, so that they can achieve excellence and distinction in postgraduate studies and scientific research.
2. Creating a generation of dentistry graduates who are distinctful in the fields of oral and dental health care and having the ability of meeting the requirements of our age and covering the need of our society.
3. Graduates are awarded Bachelor`s degrees in Dentistry.
5. Providing an educational atmosphere that gives students the opportunity of acquiring several kinds of knowledge, sciences and skills in the fields of dentistry.
6. Developing the educational atmosphere in conformity with the values and principles of the local community.
7. Scholarly communication and contact with other faculties from within and outside the university locally and internationally.
8. Contributing to conducting studies, plans and strategies that aim to cover the need of the community for dentists.
9. Working hard to develop the faculty in order to bring it up to top levels in education.

9. Department of Oral and Dental Biology

Take a note that these departments do not award university degrees in these specializations.
