Geographic Information System Unit (GIS) - Documentation and Information Center of Misurata University in partnership with Esri partner in Libya\ the Libyan Geospatial Consulting Center and Esri Northeast Africa Company invite you to attend a workshop on Geographic Information System: Experiences and Future Visions.
The world celebrates GIS Day 2020 on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, which is a global event that was initiated by Esri company in 1999. This special event is celebrated annually to provide the opportunity for all citizens from different backgrounds to learn about these technologies and their importance and applications, and to make these technologies available to everyone without exception as necessary through organizing activities during the event, such as scientific conferences, workshops, scientific symposiums, or wall exhibitions. Libya is one of the countries that have been keeping pace with the development in using these technologies and systems in its development projects since the year 2000. Most Libyan spatial data related institutions have adopted GIS tools in their operational plans of the development process through the use of Esri Company products such as the Man-Made River project, third-generation enterprises, and spatial data infrastructure project. There will be a celebration, for the second consecutive year, sponsored by Misurata University in partnership with the Libyan Geospatial Consulting Center (Esri partner in Libya) and Esri Northeast Africa Company and supported by the Libyan entities (stakeholders and data holders) and the Libyan Society for Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems, as an expression of our participation in the international technological and technical development. Moreover, there will be many activities during the celebration of this global event through the active participation of State ministries and institutions and individuals interested in presenting their most important findings from applications and projects in GIS and remote sensing technologies.
