The graduate program in of the Law Department came to force in the academic year 2005/2006 when 20 graduate students were admitted. But because of the constraints and standards imposed by the General People’s Committee for Higher Education (formerly), and which were lacking at the Department at the time, the program was terminated. Viva–voce examinations were conducted for two master’s students upon closure. Arrangements were made with corresponding colleges to accept the remaining students in this program to enable them to complete their studies.
In the academic year 2012/2013 with the fulfillment of requirements mandated, the graduate program resumed with the enrollment of 20 students, 12 students of which made it to the final exams where 6 students passed and currently preparing their masters’ thesis topics.
In 2013/2014 18 students were admitted and started attending classes according to the approved schedules of study. An internal list of regulations is at force in regard of this program.
