The signed agreement between Misurata University (MU) and International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) which lasts for a period of 4 years, is intended to formalize the cooperation between the two parties in order to ensure the provision of appropriate physical rehabilitation services at the Misurata University Physical Rehabilitation Centre ( RCP), which was established in 27/07/2016.The RCP is under the management and within the compound of the Faculty of Nursing of Misurata University, it also provides appropriate rehabilitation services, including provision of mobility devices ( prostheses, orthoses, walking aids, etc.) along with physical therapy to persons with physical disabilities living in Misurata region. Statistics shows that the centre has received and dealt with more than 150 physically disabled persons since its opening.

Misurata University also seeks to establish an international humanitarian law centre, the university has submitted a proposal to facilitate the establishment of an international humanitarian law centre within the university, and a number of teaching staff from the Faculty of Law has been trained in this field. This is due to the interest of the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) in the dissemination of the rules of international humanitarian law and the provision of humanitarian assistance to civilians, prisoners, detainees and displaced persons. The ICRC have made significant efforts to enforce the rules of international humanitarian law throughout the armed conflict in Libya in 2011.
