German Academic Exchange Services (DAAD) is a German organization which aims to develop the Higher Education and research and promote the German language as a language of science. It offers scholarships and fund for projects and programs and usually it goes by the motto “Change by Exchange”. The organization implements immense projects in Higher Education through different programs.
German-Arab Transformation Partnership is a DAAD-funded program which is designed to support and strengthen cooperation between German and Arab universities/ research centers and academics (professors/ students). It consists of 4 different lines which differ according to the type and duration of cooperation.
Program Line 2: Short-term Cooperation is a program designed to intensify the scientific relations between German and Arab Partners through short and medium cooperation as: workshops, conferences, seminars, trainings, summer schools or short research and study stays. This program aims at curriculum development, research, university reform, capacity building, university-industrial collaboration and exchange grants. DAAD provides fund for these activities up to 40,000€, including fund for non-monetary resources like materials and equipment that are needed for the program.
In order to ensure that DAAD future funded programs and projects include Libyan partners, we invite you to take the lead in drafting ideas for activities that can be funded via Program Line 2. Noting that only German universities/ institutes can apply after a prior agreement with Arab universities.
- Conferences, workshops, summer schools, seminars and trainings.
- Research and study short stays.
- Step 1: Higher Education Institutions (from the following countries: Tunisia, Morocco, Libya, Jordan, Yemen, Lebanon, and Iraq) should fill in the application form [Download here] with the projects they have prepared
- Step 2: Arab Higher Education Institutions should contact German Higher Education Institutions or Research Institutions, as they are the sole applicable bodies who can directly apply for this grant
The deadline will be followed by a processing period of at least three months. Following that, the Implementation of accepted applications will take place between October 1 and December 31, 2017
